Uganda Airlines has come under increased scrutiny following a series of recent flight disruptions that affected passengers and flight schedules. The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has confirmed that it is launching an investigation to establish the cause of the operational challenges and assess whether aviation standards were fully observed.
According to aviation authorities, the probe will focus on issues related to flight delays, cancellations, and overall operational efficiency. The investigation aims to determine whether the disruptions were caused by technical challenges, scheduling problems, crew availability, or other internal and external factors affecting the national carrier.
Industry stakeholders and passengers have expressed concern over the inconveniences caused, calling for greater transparency and improved communication from the airline. Some travelers reported missed connections and unexpected changes to travel plans, raising questions about service reliability during peak travel periods.
UCAA officials emphasized that the review is part of the regulator’s mandate to ensure passenger safety, service quality, and compliance with aviation regulations. The authority noted that any shortcomings identified will be addressed through corrective measures to prevent future disruptions.
Uganda Airlines management is expected to cooperate fully with the investigation and provide detailed explanations regarding the affected flights. The outcome of the probe is anticipated to guide improvements in operations, strengthen accountability, and restore public confidence in the national carrier.
The airline remains a key pillar in Uganda’s aviation and tourism sector, and authorities say ensuring smooth and reliable operations is essential to maintaining its growth and regional competitiveness.
