Kamwenge: Security heightened in kamwenge district following recent suspected ADF attacks in region.

Security operatives in Kamwenge have highly made strategic deployment in hotspot areas to prevent militia attack on the area following the recent attack on the police barracks in Kasese, Bundibugyo and fort portal by the armed militia attack on November 1st.

The assaults on Kasese Central Police Station and Rugendabara Police Post with similar attacks encountered in Bundibugyo and Fort portal which left 19 people dead and 40 suspects arrested had awakened Kamwenge security to tighten security to provide security to the locals and their property.

Mr Aharikundira Africano the RDC Kamwenge said that Kamwenge district being a target area rebels, they have multiplied on the deployment on hot spot points across the district using all security agencies like the UPDF, Uganda police, Uganda prisons services and Uganda wildlife authority bringers.

Mr Africano added that sensitization meetings with the community are ongoing to sensitize them on how to handle such situations and how to be vigilant. He also asked them to stay calm because the security is doing their job to protect them.

He asked the community and the LCI Chairperson to report any suspicious person to the above-mentioned security agencies and other local leaders to prevent dangers in their areas.
