Honourable Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze, the current Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, has been declared the winner of the Kibale East Member of Parliament seat following the 2026 Ugandan general elections.
The victory secures Hon. Tumwebaze another term in Parliament, reaffirming the confidence voters in Kibale East have placed in his leadership and experience. A seasoned politician, Tumwebaze has served the constituency for several terms and remains one of the most experienced lawmakers in the region.

Experience and Leadership
Hon. Tumwebaze has held several senior government positions over the years and is widely known for his active role in national governance. As Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, he oversees one of Uganda’s most critical sectors, which employs a large portion of the population and plays a central role in food security and economic growth.
During the campaign period, he emphasized continued development, improved agricultural productivity, better support for farmers, infrastructure development, and service delivery in Kibale East.
Strong Support from Voters
The parliamentary race in Kibale East attracted strong voter participation, with residents turning out to choose their representative. Hon.
