The expansion of culture-driven tourism is helping to diversify the country’s tourism portfolio, moving beyond traditional wildlife and nature attractions. Cultural festivals are providing platforms for artists, performers, designers, and storytellers to share Uganda’s rich heritage and modern identity, while also creating employment and business opportunities within the creative economy.
Tourism stakeholders note that entertainment-focused experiences are boosting domestic tourism, encouraging travel within the country, and supporting hospitality businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and transport services. Communities hosting these events are benefiting from increased economic activity, cultural exchange, and greater visibility.
As Uganda continues to invest in arts and entertainment, industry leaders believe cultural tourism will play a growing role in strengthening the country’s global image, increasing visitor numbers, and contributing to sustainable tourism development.
