Tanzania Dismisses Ticket Rumours Ahead of CHAN 2024 Quarter-Final
Tanzania has denied viral claims that Kenyan fans bought out all tickets for their CHAN quarter-final clash against Morocco, scheduled for Friday, 8:00 PM EAT at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Government Spokesperson Gerson Musigwa called the reports “completely false,” assuring Tanzanian fans there are plenty of tickets still available and urging supporters to show up and cheer the Taifa Stars.
“They talk a lot because they fear us,” Musigwa said in a confident tone, downplaying the online chatter.
🇰🇪 Kenyan Fans Stir the Pot – and the Banter
Some Kenyan fans claimed online that they purchased tickets not to support Tanzania but to back Morocco and limit Tanzanian fan turnout. The jabs added spice to the regional rivalry, which has extended well beyond the pitch.
Even Kenya’s Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen got involved, jokingly urging Kenyans to go support Morocco in Dar es Salaam:
“If they are going to make fun of us the way they have done, I’ll be very happy if it is Kenya vs Tanzania in the finals in Nairobi. Just imagine!”
