The latest funeral programme maintains September 12, 2026, as the burial date for King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

The date carries special significance for the Tooro Kingdom because it coincides with the anniversary of King Oyo’s coronation in 1995, when he was enthroned as Omukama of Tooro at the age of three.

The King will be laid to rest at the Karambi Royal Tombs in Fort Portal, following a funeral service at St John’s Cathedral. The burial will mark the conclusion of the official nine-day mourning period and the final farewell to one of Tooro’s most prominent modern monarchs.
