On Wednesday, the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development concluded the registration of non-unionized workers ahead of next week’s parliamentary Workers’ Representative Elections.
The exercise allowed workers nationwide to select their representatives at the sub-county, city, town, municipal, and district levels for all officially registered non-unionized employees.
Permanent Secretary Aggrey Kibenge, together with his teams, oversaw both the registration and the elections across the country. Kibenge personally monitored the process in eastern Uganda, particularly in Jinja and Iganga.
