Nurse Arrested in Connection with Murder of 20-Year-Old Woman in Kanungu

 

A 20-year-old woman, Rachael Kemigisha, was found dead near Kihihi Health Centre IV in Kanungu District. Her body was discovered by a boda boda rider, Alexander Musinguzi, who reported the incident to Kihihi Police Station ¹.

According to Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate, Kemigisha was last seen by her father on Thursday, March 13th, 2025. Her mother had informed her father that she had gone to Kihihi Health Centre IV.

Preliminary investigations have led to the arrest of a nurse from the clinic, who is currently being held to assist in the ongoing investigations. Police found white torn gloves between the body and a brown bag, and preliminary findings indicate that the victim's arms appeared twisted.

The cause of death and motive behind the crime are still unknown, pending further investigation. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
