_*THEME: "JESUS HAVE MERCY ON US."*_
Dear beloved brethren, today's gospel presents Jesus healing the Blind Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus who was sitting by the roadside begging , on hearing that Jesus and His disciples were passing through Jericho, he cried out and said, "Jesus, Son of David, have Pitty on me."
Dear beloved people of God the account of the healing of Bartimaeus is the gospel in miniature. To the early Church it Symbolised the longing for salvation from oppression, physical suffering, and death. The blind man of Jericho represents the followers of Jesus and Contemporary men and women who have not yet seen and acknowledged the light of Christ.
Dear beloved friends we are all blind in one way or another, let's learnt the following from today's gospel:
1. With hope let's cry out to Jesus to open our eyes to see the light of Jesus and see those in need of our help, open our ears to hear what Jesus is speaking to us in his daily word and we should encourage one another in the faith and support the faith of one another in genuine love and charity.
2. Let's recognize our sinfulness and ask for mercy from God.
3. Let's have complete faith and trust in Jesus which involves proclamation of his gospel, reading the Bible daily, prayers, liberation, personal encounter, and following Jesus.
4. And finally, let's put off our former selves and embrace the new life of Jesus Christ.
*LET'S PRAY:*
Lord Jesus Christ grant us the faith and humility that constantly seeks your mercy and forgiveness so that with renewed hearts and minds, we may serve you and receive pardon and peace in our hearts. *Amen*
LET'S ENTRUST OURSELVES INTO THE MATERNAL CARE AND INTERCESSION OF MOTHER MARY FOR ALL FAVOURS AND BLESSINGS UPON HUMANITY.
*YESU JAI CONFIANCE EN TOI AMEN 🙏*
