Nigeria sealed a comfortable 3–1 win over Uganda at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, completing a perfect run in Group C and ending the East African side’s campaign.
Raphael Onyedika scored twice, while Paul Onuachu grabbed his first international goal in four years as the Super Eagles dominated despite fielding a rotated squad after already securing top spot. Nigeria finished the group with a maximum nine points.
Tunisia and Tanzania also advanced to the round of 16, with Tanzania progressing as one of the best third-placed teams following a 1–1 draw with Tunisia.
Uganda managed a late consolation through Rogers Mato in a difficult outing that saw the team reduced to 10 men. The Cranes were forced into using three different goalkeepers after an injury and a red card shown to Salim Magoola, capping a chaotic tournament for coach Paul Put’s side.
