Uganda to Face Defending CHAN Champions Senegal in Quarterfinals at Mandela National Stadium

will take on reigning CHAN champions Senegal in the quarterfinals of the tournament on Saturday, 23rd August, at Mandela National Stadium, Kampala.

The fixture was confirmed after Sudan held Senegal to a 0-0 draw on 19th August, allowing Sudan to top Group D on goal difference, with Senegal finishing second

This marks a historic achievement for Uganda, who have reached the quarterfinals for the first time in seven CHAN appearances. The Cranes sealed their spot after a dramatic 3-3 draw against South Africa in their final group match.

Uganda’s tournament journey began with a tough 3-0 defeat to 2023 finalists Algeria, but they bounced back strongly with a 3-0 win over Guinea, followed by a 2-0 victory against Niger, and the final draw against South Africa.

Senegal’s path included a 1-0 win over Nigeria, a 1-1 draw with Congo, and the goalless draw against Sudan.
